For a TV fan, there’s nothing quite like two characters from your favorite shows getting together in “real life.” (I use quotes because I know I’m not the only one who has trouble keeping the two worlds separate #teamTVland.) Most recently Tyler Hilton (Chris Keller on One Tree Hill) and Megan Park (Grace Bowman on The Secret Life of the American Teenager) announced their engagement. Sure it’s Tyler and Megan getting married, but in TVland, it’s trouble-making and wife-stealing Chris Keller and born-again-virgin Grace. Talk about the makings of a hilarious new show.
Leighton Meester and Adam Brody are also engaged. In other words, Queen Bee Blair Waldorf left bad-boy Chuck Bass for sweet Seth Cohen and a world filled with bagels, headbands and never-ending (and always sarcastic) conversations. Another show our teen-drama-loving hearts would love to watch (and just may invent in our heads).
Back in Tree Hill land, Sophia Bush dated Chad Michael Murray, James Lafferty and Austin Nichols. While Sophia didn’t end up with any of OTH’s leading men in real life, looking back on One Tree Hill (which we obviously do often), the fact that Sophia spend the same amount of time off-screen as she did on-screen with her love interests helps our OTH google image searches seem more real. The same goes for Blake Lively and Penn Badgley (S & Lonely Boy forever), and Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev (who doesn’t want to see their favorite vamps at Coachella?).
Whether it works out or not, our teen drama hearts are forever grateful. And totally willing to set up celebrities (and their TV alter egos) with someone new. (Rory Gilmore and Nate Archibald? Izzie Stevens and Pacey Witter? Think about all of the possibilities…)
