Yesterday during my “best Monday ever,” I mentioned Taylor Swift’s new Rolling Stone cover. There was a few quality quotes/revelations, but everyone keeps going back to her newest feud. Taylor told the magazine that she has new song on her album about a fellow pop star who “sabotaged her tour.” The celebrity in the song, which is called “Bad Blood,” is someone Taylor wasn’t sure if she was ever friends with, but they would talk at award shows. The internet exploded with guesses, and my first guess, Katy Perry, seems to be the culprit. Let’s rewind a little bit.
Taylor and Katy seemed to be friendly:
They both loved to dance their little hearts out:
They even had similar taste in men. Swift claims the problem with her and her mysterious enemy wasn’t about a boy, but when pressed by Rolling Stone, she said “There might have been a personal element to the conflict, but I don’t think there would be any personal problem if she weren’t competitive.” #BlameJohnMayer
In December of 2013, one of Swift’s Red Tour dancers gave an interview and revealed that after 6 months of dancing for Taylor, he left for Katy’s Prism Tour. He had worked with Katy before, and two other dancers went with him.
On August 18th, the day of Swift’s livestream and premiere of her new song, “Shake It Off,” Perry tweeted:
We don’t know if it’s related to Taylor’s new song, but the internet seems to think so.
Katy’s latest tweet is less of a mystery, and it seems she is comparing Taylor to our favorite blonde who does car commercials in Japan.
Will Swift respond with a tweet of her own? Is the enemy in question definitely Katy? Who’s side are you on?
