Next time you’re looking for a show, I recommend Once Upon a Time. The first few seasons are on Netflix, and I promise you will be instantly hooked. The show takes place in Storybrooke, where every fairytale character you have ever loved has forgotten who they are and are living a “normal life.” The daughter of Snow White and Prince Charming is the key to breaking the curse, and when she returns to Storybrooke, happily ever after slowly begins to return. It sounds simple, but it’s really a complicated combination of Revenge (the evil queen is basically Victoria Grayson), Gilmore Girls (single parents and small town charm) and Buffy the Vampire Slayer (except it’s dragons and evil queens instead of vampires) with all the stories and movies you grew up with.
Once Upon a Time has me thinking it’s pretty convenient the polar vortex started right after Frozen premiered in theaters. Queen Elsa, I know you’re out there, I just don’t know if you’re secretly disguised as someone in my life (if so, thanks for all the snow days).
It also has me thinking maybe I gave up on the whole “I’m going to be a princess when I grow up,” plan a little too soon.
